We wrapped up Longview Mill local negotiations on Wednesday night. This is our first final proposal from the company that is not a tentative agreement.
A tentative agreement or TA is where the Union and the Company have agreed to all the issues, after negotiations have completed. This was not the case for this local bargain. Mandatory overtime reared its head again, and our negotiation committee stuck by our members' directive, to not agree to mandatory overtime.
This position was only taken after thoughtful consideration of the company's multiple proposals on this issue, and we couldn't in good faith agree to something that our membership told us not to.
Our stance was founded on our members interests, and most likely had an impact on the company's following proposals, which were not to the standard that we had proposed or expected. They did reserve the right to address the overtime issue at the next stage of bargaining for the mill (big table), and we will review all the proposals that the company proposes at all stages of bargaining, including the big table.
We hoped to address more of our members needs at Longview, but the company seemed to be unwilling to take significant steps, with out concessions on our part.
Your committee worked really well together and are willing to continue negotiating for better things from our employer. We're not done yet.
As For the timberlands local negotiations,
We haven’t had many issues to address in non-economics so far, we look forward to timberlands sub negotiations where we address any wage adjustments for all of timberlands.
Your Negotiations Committee.

Is there going to be something that we can read that entails what the final proposal is?
