UPDATE 04/29/26

The bargaining committee for the Timberlands Subcommittee met with Weyerhaeuser on Monday and Tuesday this week. This Timberlands Subcommittee is tasked to handle our member's issues across all Woods, Yards, and Trucking locations. We will have the final proposal posted as soon as possible for our members to review.

This bargain did accomplish a few items, but still had a few items included that will need more attention:

- Created an entry-level Utility 1 job in the woods, a new Utility 2 job, and renamed the current Utility as Utility 3, at the current wage rate.

- We clarified and expanded the CDL reimbursement.

- Increased the Tether adder for leveling shovel loggers

- Increased the Truck Driver Training Adder

- Increased the Super Train log truck adder.

- Increased the Lowboy wage.

The scheduled or mandatory overtime issue was raised again for the Longview Yard and for Washington and Oregon Trucking. This will be discussed again in the next couple of weeks at the Big Table. And we did make a number of other proposals to support our members, their families, and their communities, and we were met with "we're not interested" from Weyerhaeuser, multiple, multiple times.

From the Company's own proposal:

The Employer's objectives in these negotiations are to:

 - Support our employees, their families, and communities while also ensuring that our business can continue to operate across business cycles.

This is their first objective, and we have not seen any proposals that accomplish this. Everything from the company is focused on the last part of that objective... that our business can operate.

Weyerhaeuser needs to understand that their business CANNOT OPERATE without you. Now is the time to be active, be vocal, and be ready to stand up for your rights as the workers who make our Mills and Woods and Yards run. May is going to be an important month in our work lives, and it can go one of two ways...

Either we get a contract that we can accept that repays us for our work, for today and for the future.

Or we get a contract proposal that falls short and is not good enough, and we have to do something about it.

We need a contract that SUPPORTS OUR WORKERS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND OUR COMMUNITIES.
